How to Apply for Funding

To access the application documents you must first demonstrate that your organization meets certain requirements. Please review the eligibility guide below and follow the instructions as directed. Required fields must be completed in order to access the application forms.

Eligibility

The Foundation supports general operating budgets and special projects of human service organizations, education institutions, and arts organizations. Limited support is given to national and U.S. based organizations offering international programs.

The Foundation does not support: individuals; political, lobbying, or fraternal activities; religious groups for religious purposes; medical research by individuals; scholarships to individuals; fundraising events, sponsorships, or advertising support; travel or tour expenses; conferences, seminars, workshops, or symposiums; athletic or sports-related organizations; non 501(c)(3) organizations or those operating under a fiscal agent.

Location

To be eligible for funding by The Pentair Foundation, programs or activities must serve residents of the following locations. Indicate the community(ies) that your organization serves:

The Pentair Foundation has two major areas of focus: Education and Community. Please indicate those activities in which your organization is involved:

Education

The Foundation is committed to serving youth in kindergarten through grade 12, and concentrates on organizations and programs that:

• Provide school-to-work initiatives including business concepts and their applications; work readiness; career development; and guidance on post-secondary education options.
• Offer alternative education methods and instruction that provide opportunities for students to excel and advance. A special emphasis is placed on environments which recognize and support the individual needs and skill levels of students.
• Support and enhance arts education by introducing students to art concepts, processes, and applications. Focus areas include literature, music, and dramatic arts -- highlighting the importance of cultural influences. Programs offering a pronounced educational component are of special interest.
• The Foundation will provide limited support to undergraduate programs in skill-specific trades, business management, and engineering.

Community

Communities address issues directly affecting the health and welfare of their citizens. The Foundation funds organizations that provide resources to strengthen and enhance the lives of individuals. Programs of specific interest to the Foundation offer:

• Job training, education assistance and resources, and affordable housing. Of special interest are programs that assist individuals in achieving and maintaining self-sufficiency.
• Entrepreneurial and small business opportunities for and with economically disadvantaged individuals.
• Diverse opportunities for youth to acquire and build life skills in an environment that encourages cross-cultural understanding and respect for individuals.
• Basic needs and support services for youth in crisis.
• Access to health care services for under-served individuals and families. Programs must offer preventative education and resources on health and safety issues to the community at large.
• Assistance, education, resource information, and rehabilitation services for those suffering from physical and/or mental disabilities and life-threatening illnesses.
