During the “Great Recession” of 2009, the U.S. government signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) into law. ARRA was designed to pour billions of dollars into the U.S. economy in order to stimulate growth. The U.S. stimulus package earmarked $13.5 billion for water-related projects.Pentair acted swiftly to analyze the legislation and developed a white paper, website and sales initiative called “Partner with Pentair.” Our aim was to track ARRA project money and promote sales channel development. We also recognized that the U.S. wasn’t the only nation with an economic rescue in the works. Countries around the world committed approximately $2.4 trillion in U.S. dollars to their own fiscal plans. China, Brazil, Singapore and South Africa are spending on par with the U.S.Our “Partner with Pentair” initiative highlights our expertise as a leading global provider of water technology and equipment for the municipal, residential, agricultural, commercial and industrial markets with our key internal and external stakeholders. We focused on sharing information about the unique opportunities created by ARRA spending and about ways in which Pentair could partner with others to improve the nation’s water infrastructure.
