How do I create an account in the Pentair Pro app?

On the Log In screen tap Sign Up to create a new account. Enter your email address and a strong password. Tap the check box to agree to the Terms of Service.

Can my employees / installers access my Pentair Pro app account?

Yes, you can add (or remove) installers to your account via the Pentair Pro Web app.

What is the difference between an Admin and an Employee in the Pentair Pro app?

An admin is the primary account holder (normally the business owner or office manager). You can add employees to your Pentair Pro app account only through the Pentair Pro Web app on your desktop or laptop. Please visit www.pentairpro.com, login, and follow the instructions.

Why didn’t I receive an email after resetting my password?

Verify the email that you have listed on the account. Check your junk or spam folder for the email. Try to reset the password again.

Why do I get text messages but no email messages?

Your notification settings are likely set to text but not email. To confirm or change these settings, open your Pentair Home app, go to Account and select Notifications.

I’m an independent dealer but not currently enrolled in a Pentair Partners program. Can I use the app?

The app is free for anyone to download and you can install Pentair connected products and see the installations on the app. To access additional benefits of the app, such as remote monitoring, you need to be enrolled in a Pentair Partners program. Click here to learn more about becoming a Pentair Partner.

How do I remotely monitor a customer’s connected Pentair product?

Remote monitoring by a professional is a functionality available to residential customers on select Pentair connected products. Remote monitoring by your business through the homeowner’s app (Pentair Home).  When a request is sent, you will receive a notification on your Pentair Pro app account. You will have the option to: Contact the Customer, Accept Request, or Deny Request.

Can a homeowner opt-in or opt-out of the remote monitoring service?

Yes, a homeowner can choose to revoke remote monitoring access from a water treatment professional after they have opted in to that service.

I received a request from a homeowner to monitor a device that I did not install. How is this possible?

Residential customers have the option, via the Pentair Home app, to find a service provider in their area who is enrolled in a Pentair Partner program. If you receive a request, you can choose to contact the homeowner to learn more, accept or deny the request.

Does the Pentair Home app or range of connected products work with a smart home system (i.e. Alexa, Google Home**)?

The Pentair Home app accepts a wide range of Pentair Connected water devices that can be used throughout a home to help your customers move, improve and enjoy their water. However, at this time, Pentair Home and Pentair Pro are not integrated with other smart home devices, or connected via voice with at home assistants like Alexa or Google Home.

What measures are in place to secure my data?

First and foremost, in order to protect your account, we have built our sign up process to be simple but secure with mandatory email verification as well as mandatory strong password requirement. Also, any account changes, such as password reset, require confirmation codes that are sent to the user’s verified email. In addition to such user account level security measures, Pentair has structured the backend architecture to identify security threats and limit exposure.

How do I create an account in the Pentair Home app?

How many users can I have on one account?

You can have only one email address on your account. Other persons in your household can use the same email address and password to access your account on other devices. There is no limit to the number of devices you can be logged in on.

Why didn’t I receive an email after resetting my password?

Why do I get text messages but no email messages?

How do I find a dealer or store that sells Pentair connected products?

Pentair offers a range of connected products for home water management. I’m having problems connecting my product to the Pentair Home app. What should I do?

How do I locate a professional to help me with my connected product?

If your product allows for remote monitoring, and this was not set up in your Pentair Home app upon installation, you can search for a professional in your area to request monitoring of the product. Watch our how-to video to learn how to set up remote monitoring.

I received a notification on my Pentair Link2O app that my connected product is moving to the Pentair Home app. What do I need to do?

Yes, all products on the Link2O app have moved to the Pentair Home app. Please visit the Link2O app webpage and see instructions under How do I make the switch? section.

How often does my ChemCheck take a reading?

As long as your pump is running, your ChemCheck will take a reading every hour.

What does my ChemCheck measure?

ChemCheck measures Oxidation Reduction Potential (ORP) which is the effectiveness of your sanitizer pH and water temperature.

Can I get an instant reading whenever I would like?

The ChemCheck remains in a sleep state in order to conserve power and it wakes up regularly to take readings. Because it lives in this sleep state, a reading cannot be requested from the app. You can, however, press the blue button on the ChemCheck and it will wake it up and take a reading 5 minutes later.

Why do I have to wait 5 minutes after pressing the button for a reading?

ChemCheck measures your water with an electrical sensor.  In order to take an accurate reading, the circuitry needs time to stabilize after waking up.

Why does my ChemCheck only take readings when my pump is running?

If your pump is not running, the water in the ChemCheck will be stagnant and will not be representative of your actual pool water.

Where can I install my ChemCheck?

Do I need an electrician to install my ChemCheck?

No. There are two options to power your ChemCheck. There is a plug in version that will plug into any 120V outlet available on your pool pad and there is a battery operated version that includes a rechargeable battery if there is not an available outlet.

Why does my ChemCheck pH reading differ from my water test?

ChemCheck uses an electrical pH sensor. This sensor is more accurate and less susceptible to errors than some other test methods. There are many variables that can cause errors in reading test strips or reagent tests.

Why doesn’t my ChemCheck tell me my free chlorine levels?

ChemCheck uses a probe that measures water parameters electrically, currently free chlorine can only be measured chemically. Instead, the ChemCheck measures ORP which is a direct measure of your water's ability to sanitize bacteria.

Why does my ChemCheck sanitizer reading differ from my water test?

ChemCheck uses ORP, which is a measure of the effectiveness of your sanitizer. Traditional test kits measure the amount of sanitizer in water, but not necessarily its effectiveness. Pentair recommends using traditional testing methods in conjunction with ChemCheck's constant monitoring to keep pool owners informed of the condition of their water.

Why is my ChemCheck telling me that there is no flow, even though my pump is on?

There is a blue plunger inside the clear jar on your ChemCheck. If this plunger is visible, while your pump is on, then there is not enough water flowing through your ChemCheck. This could be because the inline debris screen is clogged with debris or because your pump is not turned up high enough. Please refer to the instruction manual for more information.

Why do I need to wait 24 hours after installing my ChemCheck to calibrate and use it?

The probe needs time to acclimate and adjust to your pool water. If this is not done, the readings will be inaccurate.

What lights can I control with the Color Sync™ Controller?

How can I control my lights with the Color Sync™ Controller?

How does the Color Sync™ Controller’s twilight mode work?

The Color Sync™ Controller allows you to set your lights to automatically turn on at twilight. The system uses your phone’s GPS location to update twilight settings seasonally to ensure your lights always come on as the sun goes down.

What is the “Low, Med, High” in the Salt Usage Graph?

These values are comparing the salt usage of your water softener over time to ensure nothing has changed. These are not an indication of performance or comparison to other water softeners.

Why is the Connected Salt Level Sensor using both Bluetooth® wireless technology and WiFi?

The Bluetooth® wireless technology connection is used to send the following information to your Pentair Connected Salt Level Sensor:

  1. WiFi network name and password
  2. Brine tank dimension, recorded from tank setup

Once this information is gathered by the device, Bluetooth® wireless technology is no longer required for operation. The Connected Salt Level Sensor will communicate with the Pentair Home app using the WiFi connection thereafter.

Why do I still get alerts if I have turned them all off in the Pentair Home app settings?

You will receive a push alert and email when your salt or battery is low, or when your sensor is offline, regardless of your notification preferences.

I inserted the batteries but the blue Mode Light is not on or ha stopped blinking. How do I place it back in Bluetooth® wireless technology pairing mode?

Press the Mode Button and the Mode Light will blink blue.

What do the different mode lights mean?

Blinking Blue = Sensor is ready to be paired with your device via Bluetooth® wireless technology
Solid Blue =
Sensor is now connected via Bluetooth® wireless technology
Blinking Green = Sensor is connecting to your WiFi

I bought a new water softener. How do I transfer my Connected Salt Level Sensor to the new softener?

Go to Device Settings in the app and select Repeat Tank Set Up. Your historical softener data (from previous softener) will be retained.

I moved and took my Connected Salt Level Sensor with me. How can I reset and reinstall it on my new water softener? What about the historical data from my previous softener?

Go to Settings in Pentair Home app and change WiFi network information (if needed). Then, repeat Tank Setup in the app. Your historical softener data (from the previous location) will be retained. If you want to delete historical data from the app, go to Settings and “Remove Device”. Also, hold Mode Button for ten seconds until orange light appears. Your sensor is now reset.

I moved and am not taking my Connected Salt Level Sensor with me. What about the historical data for that softener?

If you want to delete historical data from the app, go to Settings and “Remove Device”. Then, on your sensor, hold the Mode Button for ten seconds until the orange light appears. Your sensor is now reset and all historical data has been erased and will not be accessible to the next user.

How do I factory reset my Connected Salt Level Sensor?

To factory reset your sensor, hold the mode button for ten seconds until the mode light turns orange.

What if my Connected Salt Level Sensor is unable to connect to my WiFi?

Make sure your phone is connected to your 2.4GHz WiFi signal from your router. The water softener cannot be connected to the 5GHz frequency. The 2.4GHz frequency was intentionally chosen for this product because it has a longer range that is better suited for basements, outdoors, etc., whereas 5GHz is designed for shorter distances.

How many users can I have on one account?

How many Connected Salt Level Sensor devices can I have connected to my account?

You can have up to five Connected Salt Level Sensor devices connected per account.

Does the Connected Salt Level Sensor work with my smart home system (Alexa, Google Home, etc.)?

Your sensor is connected to the Pentair Home app, which is ready to accept additional Pentair connected devices as they become available. However, at this time, the Pentair Home app is not integrated with a smart home hub, or connected via voice with at-home assistants, like Alexa or Google Home.

Why does my system say “Offline” on the Connected Salt Level Sensor dashboard?

If your system shows “Offline”, it means that your system has been disconnected from WiFi for over 60 minutes. Offline status may interrupt notifications and data exchange between the sensor and the app. Once WiFi connection has been restored, your Pentair Home app will automatically reconnect the sensor.

Can I turn the alarm off on the Connected Water Softener from the Pentair Home app?

No, you cannot. The alarm must be turned off on the softener’s control panel. The app can only monitor the device, not control it.

Can I change the Connected Water Softener’s programming using the Pentair Home app?

No, you cannot. Programming must be done at the device. The app can only be used to monitor the device, not change settings on the softener.

What kind of equipment can I control with IntelliConnect?

The IntelliConnect® Pool Control and Monitoring System is capable of controlling up top five pool products at once, including pool pumps, filtration, lights and sanitization equipment. How does my IntelliFlo3 VSF pool pump adjust to pool conditions?

The IntelliFlo3 pool pump uses patented built-in sensorless flow technology to adjust speed automatically as conditions change with your pool. For example, when dirt or debris loads into a filter between cleanings, the pump will sense a reduction in flow due to a higher restriction in the flow path because of the presence of that dirt or debris. Therefore, the pump will speed up to maintain flow.

How do I allow a local pool professional to help me remotely monitor my IntelliFlo3 VSF pool pump?

First, you'll need to set up your IntelliFlo3 VSF pool pump in the Pentair Home app if you don’t already have it. Once set up, select the settings at the top right on the device home screen. Then select “Remote Monitoring” and then select a local pool professional and request remote monitoring. Refer to the product user’s guide for more step-by-step processes.

What are the different operation modes of the IntelliFlo3 VSF pool pump?

There are three modes of operation: manual, timer, and schedule. The default program is a twenty-four schedule at 30 gallons-per-minute. For manual mode, you can select which devices will be active and set a speed or flow rate. For timer mode, select timer duration and which devices will be active to then set an appropriate pump speed. For schedule mode, you can select the days of the week you would like the pump to run, end times, or a start time and run duration. The IntelliFlo3 VSF pool pump can have up to eight different programs. For more advanced settings refer to the product manual or talk to your local pool professional.

How do I pair my device via Bluetooth® wireless technology?

Turn on Bluetooth® on your wireless device and press the Mode button on the IntelliSync unit.

Why am I not able to connect to my home network?

Be sure that your home router is 2.4 GHz. Also check your home router SSID and password.

How do I turn my pump ON/OFF?

On the Pump Speed Settings page, toggle the “Enabled” button to “off” to turn the pump off. To turn the pump on, toggle the “off” button to “Enabled”. This will place the pump in the “running schedules” mode.

How to setup my Pentair Pentek Intellidrive?

  1. Plug in and hook up the gateway
  2. Remove the cover from the drive
  3. Connect Pentek communication hub to the drive
  4. Replace the drive cover and restore power to the drive
  5. Register device online

What kind of alerts will I receive about my Pentek Intellidrive?

Do I need a booster pump to operate the Prowler 930W?

What type of debris does the Prowler 930W capture?

The Prowler 930W is capable of capturing minuscule and large debris ranging from fine silt to leaves. The unit's top access basket makes it easy to empty following a cleaning cycle.

How to install my Pentair Sump Controller?

  1. Unplug your existing sump pump from wall outlet.
  2. Plug your pump’s cord into the top outlet of the Sump Controller.
  3. Plug the Piggyback Switch into the bottom outlet of the Sump Controller.
  4. Plug the Pseudo Plug into the back of the Piggyback Switch.
  5. Plug the included reed float switch wires into the side of the Sump Controller.
  6. Plug the Sump Controller into the wall outlet.
  7. Secure the High Level Switch to the discharge pipe with a cable tie. It should be located near the top of the sump pit.

How to add my device to the Pentair Home app?

  1. From the Sump Controller, press and hold the MODE button for 4 to 15 seconds to enter the PAIRING MODE (blinking blue).
  2. In the App, go to the Pentair dashboard, then press ADD A DEVICE.
  3. Select SUMP CONTROLLER. Click CONTINUE on both the INSTALLATION and the Bluetooth® wireless technology PAIRING screens.
  4. Choose the device (name will always start with the letter PNR). The Bluetooth icon will turn white after connecting, so you know you’ve made a successful connection.
  5. Press CONTINUE on your phone when prompted.

How to connect my Sump Controller to WiFi?

  1. Select your home WiFi account, add your home WiFi password and press CONTINUE.
  2. Set the location of your Sump Controller. If you click on SELECT LOCATION, your current location should appear; select it and press SAVE. If not, manually enter the address. Press OK when prompted.
  3. You are now connected!

How to connect my Sump Controller to WiFi?

  1. Select your home WiFi account, add your home WiFi password and press CONTINUE.
  2. Set the location of your Sump Controller. If you click on SELECT LOCATION, your current location should appear; select it and press SAVE. If not, manually enter the address. Press OK when prompted.
  3. You are now connected!

Why is my pump not running when it’s supposed to be running?

  • Float Switch Stuck in OFF Condition
  • Relay fails in off condition

What is a battery backup unit (BBU) sump pump?

A battery backup unit (BBU) sump pump is a secondary sump pump powered by a 12V deep cycle battery that automatically protects your basement if power goes out, or if the primary sump pump fails.

How do I setup my device for mobile access?

  • Complete installation of the BBU
  • Connect the Pentair Home app gateway to your home router using the Ethernet cable provided
  • Connect power supply to gateway
  • Verify the BBU is connected wirelessly to the gateway
