Soft Water Works Hard
You’ve got a lot to do. Laundry. Dishes. Cooking. Cleaning. It’s tough enough to get it all done without your water making it harder.
What Is Hard Water?
Hard water is water that contains high levels of dissolved minerals and solids such as calcium, magnesium, iron, and copper. Hard water not only looks and tastes bad, it can also wreak havoc on your home and your budget.
The minerals in hard water harden over time to create scale, which builds up inside of pipes and causes damage and staining to water-using appliances. It also drastically reduces the efficiency of your water heater, resulting in increased energy costs.
Soaps and detergents bind to the minerals in hard water, making them less effective. This leads to laundry that is faded and scratchy, and can cause irritation and dryness to skin and hair.
How Does Water Softening Work?
A water softening system drastically improves the quality of water in your home. Hard water enters the softening system where tiny resin beads attract and remove the hard minerals. The softened water is then pumped into your home. When the resin beads are full of minerals, the system regenerates so it can continue to treat your water.
Benefits of a Water Softening System
- Protect your plumbing and appliances, and save money on repair costs.
- Maintain water pressure by preventing build-up inside of pipes.
- Save money on energy costs by increasing the efficiency of your water heater.
- Use less soap and detergent.
- Enjoy cleaner and shinier dishes.
- Fabrics last longer, look cleaner and feel softer.
- Enjoy shiny hair and soft skin.
A water softener can solve your hard water problem - and you’ll get water that works as hard as you.
