5 Micron Prefilter System

The prefilter system reduces debris, sand, silt, and sediment in the water supply down to 5 microns in size (that’s 20 times smaller than a human hair). The prefilter helps protect plumbing and appliances from excess sediment, increasing their effectiveness. With average use, the prefilter will last approximately 6-9 months before needing to be replaced.

Catalytic Granular Activated Carbon Media (GAC)

Pentair uses a high-grade mesh blend of coconut shell based activated carbons in its whole house carbon filters. The carbon media is designed to filter common water contaminants like chlorine, chloramines, industrial solvents, and many more.

Water Softener Alternative

The final stage conditions hard water without the use of salt, making it virtually maintenance free. These softeners neutralize the mineral ions causing your hard water, instead of removing them, which keeps the good stuff in and the bad stuff out, and reduces the formation of scale on appliances. The media contains nucleation sites that initiate formation of calcium and magnesium crystals on the media reducing the dissolved “hard” minerals from the water and as a result, the scaling potential. The movement of water and friction among the media granules rubbing against each other cause fragments of the newly grown crystal structures to be fragmented off the media and released into the passing water.

Pentair Pelican Water tanks (13" and smaller), valves, in/out non-electric heads, bypass's, fittings and housings for POE systems will be free from defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a limited lifetime of twelve (12) years from the date of original purchase.
