How often should I change the 5 micron sediment pre-filter?
-
Change your prefilter every 6 to 9 months depending on the actual amount of sediment or particulate matter present in your water supply. The prefilter starts off white in color, so a dirty, brownish color will indicate it’s time to swap it out.
-
How much maintenance is required?
-
Minimal maintenance is needed to keep your system operating smoothly. Simply replace filters and media as recommended in your owner’s manual.
-
Why is the sediment prefilter housing blue and non-transparent?
-
A clear housing would allow light to penetrate. Light in the prefilter housing can cause algae to grow. A blue, non-transparent housing prevents the light from coming in contact with the water and eliminates the possibility of algae forming from light exposure.
