- Stepping Inside the World of a Luxury Pool Builder
Where Design, Technology, and Convenience Converge
There’s a certain moment that defines luxury pool building, and it’s not when the last tile is set or the waterline comes into focus. It’s that moment when a homeowner steps outside and simply stops. No questions. No commentary. Just silence as they take their sumptuous new pool in.
Jonny Moore, the owner of Luxe Pools Las Vegas, has seen that moment again and again.
“The most inspiring part is when the pool becomes more than just a feature — when it becomes part of how they experience their home,” he said. “You can tell it’s not just about having a pool; it’s about having something that feels uniquely theirs.”
That emotional connection is the foundation of Luxe Pools Las Vegas, Moore’s boutique pool design and construction firm specializing in highly custom, architecturally driven outdoor environments.
But behind the beauty is something equally intentional: engineering precision, intelligent automation, and equipment that disappears into the background, doing its job flawlessly.
From Passion Project to Purpose Driven Craft
Luxe Pools Las Vegas didn’t start as a business plan. It started as a pull Moore couldn’t ignore.
“Luxe Pools Las Vegas grew out of something deeply personal,” he explained. “I’ve always been drawn to design, engineering, and the emotional impact water can have in a space. What began as a 25-year hobby — building pools for myself, family, and friends — eventually became something I couldn’t ignore. I stepped away from a 30-year career to start a boutique company focused on highly custom, design-driven pools.”
That former career, including the highs and lows of selling robotics and optimizing supply chains, still shapes how Moore works today. Complex systems. Strategic thinking. Relentless focus on the customer experience. It’s a background that naturally aligns with the kind of projects Luxe Pools takes on: one-of-a-kind designs that demand technical excellence as much as aesthetic expertise.
“What motivates me is the opportunity to create something that truly belongs to the home and the client,” Moore says. “Every project starts as a blank canvas, and every client brings a different perspective.”
While the average homeowner knows how personal home design should be, it’s often easier to overlook just how individual pool design can be. But just like interior design, the backyard can reflect its owner’s unique lifestyle and personality. And Moore, armed with expertise and vision alike, argues it should.
When Design and Engineering Speak the Same Language
In-the-know luxury pool clients aren’t just asking for beauty. They’re thinking through their unique lifestyle and asking for intention. Moore has watched that expectation evolve in the two decades since he built his first pool.
“There’s been a clear shift toward more intentional architectural design,” he said. “Clients are thinking about how the pool relates to the home, not just as an addition but as part of the overall composition. There’s also a much greater expectation that the technology behind the pool should feel seamless and intelligent.”
That expectation is exactly where Pentair enters the picture.
For Moore, luxury isn’t loud. It’s quiet pumps, invisible circulation, and water chemistry that maintains itself. Systems that work behind the scenes without demanding attention can often lead to the most relacing ownership experiences.
“That expectation has pushed me to focus even more on precision, both visually and mechanically,” he said. “Clean lines, thoughtful hydraulics, and equipment that operates quietly and efficiently all contribute to a finished product that feels calm and complete.”
And efficiency is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to home design trends.
Convenience Is the Ultimate Luxury
For years, homeowners have been pushing to make maintenance feel more effortless. Robotic vacuums, smart thermostats, and schedulable window blinds have become popular indoor solutions in recent years. All these solutions help make homeownership easier. Likewise, the backyard can be optimized.
And Moore knows all too well that a pool can be visually stunning and still fall short if it’s difficult to own. Effortlessness has become the name of the game.
Reliability and customer experience are the foundation of every pool build. That belief is why every Luxe Pools project includes systems designed to reduce hands-on maintenance and remove friction from daily ownership. In-floor cleaning is non-negotiable.
“Customer experience is also why I insist on in-floor cleaning systems in every pool I build,” Moore said. “One client often shares how he hesitated because of the cost, but now, more than a year later, he has never had to manually clean his pool.
Meanwhile, his neighbor without in-floor cleaning is constantly vacuuming. That difference shapes how people feel about owning their pool.”Behind that convenience is effortless technology from Pentair, working exactly as intended. engineering precision, intelligent automation, and equipment that disappears into the background, doing its job flawlessly.
Precision Without Complexity
For Moore, Pentair is more than just a trusted brand. It’s a design enabler, the supplier of building blocks that will soon help pool owners make memories.
“Pentair has played a major role in allowing me to deliver the level of precision and reliability I expect,” he says. “For me, the equipment is what allows the design to disappear. When the hydraulics, automation, and chemistry are engineered properly, the homeowner doesn’t think about the system — they simply enjoy the water.
“In terms of automation, IntelliCenter® pool automation gives me the ability to fully orchestrate how the pool operates, and it allows homeowners to interact with their pool in a way that feels intuitive rather than technical.”
When paired with the Pentair Pool app, pool control is managed at the touch of a water-wrinkled finger. Flow rates and schedules can be set with a tap, allowing the pool to function at its ideal capacity. And with remote monitoring enabled by pool service professionals, pool management is truly made easy… Especially when it comes to ensuring equipment is operating on its ideal settings.“The IntelliFlo3® pool pumps are equally important because they allow me to fine-tune flow rates to match both the design intent and efficiency goals,” Moore explained. “That flexibility ensures the pool performs exactly as designed. I’ve also become increasingly focused on automated chemical monitoring and dosing. Maintaining proper water chemistry is essential not only for water quality, but for protecting the long-term integrity of the finishes and equipment.”
The result? Sophisticated systems that don’t feel complicated to live with. Just as effortless convenience has become a demand inside the home, it’s becoming the new standard in the backyard.“Most of my clients want something highly customized, but they also want it to feel simple and effortless to own.
They don’t want to manage complexity; they want confidence that everything will function properly in the background.”Even with intelligent automation, Moore believes confidence comes from understanding. That’s why, on top of a love for extravagant design and memory-making pool builds, he’s also found a passion for educating customers.
“I take the time to personally walk homeowners through their system so they understand how everything works. Pentair’s interface makes that much easier because it’s logical and intuitive.”
And the relationship doesn’t end when the beautiful new pool build is unveiled. Moore also provides continued support, insisting that the relationship doesn’t end when the pool is finished.
Building What Lasts
Just as relationships continue long after a pool is complete, so, too, does evolution in the world of technology and design. Looking ahead, Moore sees pool design continuing to become more integrated, more refined, and more technically ambitious.
At the end of the day, he measures success the same way his clients do — by how a pool performs long after the first impression fades.
“I see every pool as a long-term piece of work that reflects both the client and my own standards. Having partners like Pentair who share that commitment to quality and reliability makes it possible to deliver pools that not only look exceptional, but exceptional but continue to perform that way for many years.”
And in the world of luxury pool building, that quiet confidence may be the most powerful feature of all.
