Pentair is an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for 2019
Pentair is an industry leader in pool and spa pumps and a 2019 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year – Sustained Excellence Award winner. This honor marks the sixth consecutive year that Pentair has been recognized for our continued leadership in protecting the environment through superior energy efficiency achievements. We are committed to delivering smart, sustainable water solutions, including our innovative pool pumps that have earned the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR designation.
What is ENERGY STAR?
The EPA’s ENERGY STAR program helps identify and promote energy efficient products nationwide and awards its very familiar ENERGY STAR certification to products that meet product-specific criteria. The EPA’s website offers savings tips, factsheets, product reviews and more. You can also search and compare certified products using the Product Finder tool.
Why choose an ENERGY STAR certified pool pump?
According to the EPA, if all pool pumps sold in the United States were ENERGY STAR certified, the energy cost savings would grow to about $1.3 billion each year and 22 billion pounds of annual greenhouse gas emissions would be prevented. That’s the equivalent to emissions from more than 2 million vehicles!
By upgrading your outdated or single-speed pump to an ENERGY STAR certified pump with variable speed technology you can save up to 90%* in energy costs (or up to $1,500* a year).
Do ENERGY STAR certified pool pumps meet the new U.S. Department of Energy standards?
Starting July 18, 2021, self-priming filtration pumps rated between 0.711 and 2.5 hydraulic horsepower will be required to meet the U.S. Department of Energy’s new energy conservation standards for dedicated-purpose pool pumps. While these requirements are different from the voluntary ENERGY STAR certification, Pentair’s ENERGY STAR-certified variable speed pool pumps currently meet the new standard.
Pentair started the energy savings revolution with the introduction of variable speed technology more than a decade ago, helping pool owners conserve energy resources and reduce energy costs.
