For 30 years, the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ENERGY STAR® program has been a leading resource for saving energy and protecting the environment. Consumers and businesses alike have come to rely on its well-recognized blue symbol to make well-informed decisions as they look to choose or invest in energy-efficient products.

At Pentair, we help our customers make informed choices that support the conservation of resources through energy and water efficient technologies and are proud to offer residential and commercial solutions that are certified for energy efficiency by ENERGY STAR.

ENERGY STAR Day, which we celebrate today, provides the opportunity to reflect on the need to continue efforts for energy efficiency and protecting the environment as well as celebrate our successes in and the benefits of energy conservation.

Energy Efficiency at Home

Swimming pools enhance the outdoor experience, providing accessible entertainment and contributing to a healthy, active lifestyle. But, without the proper equipment, pools can use water and energy inefficiently.

Pentair was the first pool equipment manufacturer to have an ENERGY STAR certified pool pump and has been recognized as an ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year for nine consecutive years. Since 2005, Pentair’s ENERGY STAR pool pumps have been responsible for a cumulative 32.6 billion kWh of energy savings, the reduction of 15.4 million tons of CO2 emissions and $3.6 billion in operative cost savings for U.S. consumers.*

In addition to our ENERGY STAR-rated pool pumps, Pentair offers smart, sustainable solutions to help pool owners conserve energy and make thoughtful environmental choices. Through pool solutions like automated controls, heaters, lighting products, and water treatment technologies that use fewer chemicals, Pentair strives to design products that facilitate environmental sustainability.

Energy Efficiency for Foodservice and Hospitality

Earlier this year, we were proud to add another line of ENERGY STAR certified products with the acquisition of Manitowoc Ice, a leading provider of commercial ice makers. Crystal clear ice is a critical ingredient for commercial establishments such as restaurants and bars. ENERGY STAR certified ice machines are about 10 – 16 percent more energy efficient than standard models.**

With 47 ENERGY STAR certified models, Manitowoc has developed creative solutions to maximize the energy efficiency of its machines. The patented Air Assist Harvest technology speeds up the ice harvest cycle lowering overall energy use while the acoustic ice-sensing technology accurately measures ice thickness for consistent cube formation, resulting in a quality ice cube in less time.
