Championing Sustainability: Pentair Receives 2025 World Sustainability Award

 

Pentair is proud to be a worldwide leader in providing sustainable water solutions that help people and the planet thrive. I’m excited to share that our sustainability efforts were recently recognized with a 2025 World Sustainability Award in the category of Sustainability Team. I’m incredibly grateful for the recognition we received as a testament to how Pentair is setting new standards for responsible, sustainable business initiatives and community impact. 

The Sustainability Team award celebrates Pentair’s sustainability team and their strategic efforts that help drive progress and affect change both within our operations and beyond. Sustainability is essential to our business strategy at Pentair, as we recognize the opportunity for our greatest impact and growth is through solutions that help address the world’s water challenges. We also recognize that it is important to be responsible stewards of the planet’s resources in our own operations.  

This past year was significant in Pentair’s sustainability journey with impactful outcomes driven by the sustainability team. We exceeded our 2030 social responsibility targets in 2024 in the areas of water withdrawal, greenhouse gas emissions and product design for sustainability – five years ahead of schedule, as outlined in our 2024 Sustainability Report. These achievements were the result of meaningful collaboration across our businesses, with coordinated efforts led by the sustainability team.  While we are so proud of our achievements, we are even more excited about the incredible opportunities ahead. Our sustainability leadership continues with new strategic targets closely aligned to our business strategy in the areas of water stewardship, greenhouse gas emissions reduction, and product design for sustainability.  

Pentair’s sustainability team has been busy further embedding sustainability initiatives within the organization. In 2024, the Sustainability team developed and implemented operational initiatives through our Water Conservation Plan and Energy Efficiency Playbook, which provide manufacturing sites with actionable projects to reduce water and energy use. The team also launched the first Sustainable Innovation Challenge at Pentair in 2024. This event engaged more than 100 employees and generated 500 ideas – all focused on supporting our efforts to reduce our impact through Product Design for Sustainability.
